Licence 2 Skill

Licence 2 Skill (L2S) is a Youtube/ Twitch Streamer who wanted to create an identity to social media so that he would be recognisable on these applications. He requested for a character that would look 'cool' and that it would describe him. Also, he wanted the theme of the logo to represent his services.

To achieve the brief, the purpose of choosing 'Cursed Timer ULiL' was to combine the text to make it look like it came from a game. Moreover, I have noticed that the client likes to wear sunglasses, therefore, I drew the same hair as the client and added sunglasses that were similar to the glasses that the client owned.

Lastly, after looking at gaming illustrations on Google, I have noticed that neon lights are regularly used for this theme, hence why I added a lighting effect to the strokes of the illustration.

Retro Friday

Retro Friday is a Friday night streaming event where the client would play old-school games for gamers that wanted to feel nostalgic. He requested for another logo that would represent this event. He told me that he would use the Super Nintendo Switch controller, therefore, I traced an image of it and added it to the logo. I added the strokes to create a circle and to give motion to the controller.

We continued to use the neon lights, as shown in the screenshot below, to continue with the retro gaming theme.

Youtube Thumbnails

The client asked for further work which was to make YouTube thumbnails to captivate viewers who are interested in games that they have played before or are looking forward to play. I have suggested to add his face to the thumbnails to make it competitive to other YouTubers but the client has said that he will only do it once he has more viewers. Therefore, more viewers would be gained if familiar faces were attached to the thumbnails hence why characters are added to them. Furthermore, I attempted to stick to one style to all thumbnails which was collaging and a two-column layout. Also added logo, borders, screenshots of the game, patterned backgrounds and splash art to the thumbnails. This would help the audience briefly understand what the videos are about.

The slideshow demonstrates some of my favourite thumbnails.
